The new logo and the new corporate identity that follows mark an exciting and important new chapter in Citroën’s history.
The new logo proudly interprets the original 1919 oval and is the 10th form it has taken in Citroën’s 103-year history.
It will make its debut on the original “Oli” (all-ë) vehicle and then gradually adorn global products from mid-2023 onwards.
The upgraded corporate identity will increasingly be made available in digital and corporate environments.
The new brand signature holds promise for a faster transition to the bold, inclusive and emotional new era for Citroën’s advanced mobility solutions and customer relationships.

Citroën unveils its new corporate identity and logo, signalling a bold, exciting and dynamic new era for the brand with its 103 exciting and rich years of history. A new era that Citroën is in the making as it accelerates its mission to make electric sustainable mobility accessible to all and expands its core DNA of affordability.

The new look is a reinterpretation of the original logo, first adopted by founder André Citroën and inspired by the success of his first metalworking company, which produced ‘fishbone’ gear systems. The familiar and technical reference “deux chevrons” has remained at the heart of Citroën’s identity ever since.

The sleek new look of the emblem showcases the evolution of the brand and will debut in a few days, in an important Citroën family prototype. The new logo look will then be seen on future production and prototype Citroën vehicles from mid-2023 onwards. The prominent, reinforced vertical oval frame will introduce a new direction in the design language in which the visually prominent logo will become an instantly recognisable signature element of all Citroën models.

Complementing the new logo is the new corporate identity program along with the introduction of the new corporate signature, which promises “Nothing Moves Us Like Citroën”.

Citroën CEO, Vincent Cobée, said: “As we embark on possibly the most exciting chapter in our illustrious 103-year history, the time is right for Citroën to adopt a modern new look. Our new identity is an elegant symbol of progress as we move our customers in bold, forward-looking vehicles that challenge traditional industry norms and emotionally ensure that their entire experience – and electric mobility in particular – is more accessible, comfortable and enjoyable and can meet their every need. Our heritage of inspiring consumers with bold and revolutionary vehicles gives us the energy to take a different, more inclusive approach to future mobility that will be relevant to families and we firmly believe that customers past, present and future will agree that nothing moves us like Citroën.”

NEW BUT FAMILIAR

Central to the brand’s identity, the evolution of Citroën’s world-famous “deux chevrons” symbol – the tenth major refresh of the Citroën logo since the company’s creation in 1919 – features larger and more prominent chevrons, contrasting with the background and vertical oval frame.

Notably, the more prominent, enhanced vertical oval frame will initiate a new direction in product design language, in which the company’s visually prominent logo will become an instantly recognisable signature element of all Citroën models.

Citroën’s Worldwide Brand Designer, Alexandre Revert, claimed: “As we focus on the future, it makes sense to come full circle by returning graphically to André Citroën’s first logo, which represented the genuine promise of affordable and innovative mobility for all. Progressively, the transition to a more prominent and visible brand signature for our future designs is an important if ‘subtle’ evolution, where the precision of the technical functional chevrons, embraced and contrasted with the warmth and almost human softness of the oval that surrounds them.”

Supporting the new vertical oval logo is a fresh and comprehensive corporate identity program that serves as a further timely indication of how Citroën is accelerating its commitment to making electric sustainable mobility accessible to all, while maintaining and extending its core DNA of accessibility, boldness and well-being for all its customers.

The comfortable and intimate interior philosophy in its retail stores and “La Maison Citroën” showrooms will also continue to improve as it has proven popular with customers across Europe and in our country. This will be done as part of the expansion of the new brand identity, which includes both the digital environment and the use of the new logo on and in vehicles, as well as in merchandising and documentation, and the signage of dealerships and corporate buildings. The distinctive new signage will save energy and be even more environmentally friendly, as it is chrome-free in order to be more recyclable.

A fresh, simplified colour palette and new lettering developed from Citroën’s current proprietary fonts will complement the logo and further enhance the brand’s new identity. While white and light grey provide a base of serenity and lightness, two distinctive colours will be introduced as punctuation points for contrast and applied to details and specific areas. Inspired by a heritage colour for Citroën, which has been used on iconic cars throughout the company’s history, including the 2CV, Monte Carlo Blue will be a welcome return to the available car colours. In addition, a more vibrant infrared will replace the red currently used to add balance and dynamic contrast to print and digital applications.

The evolutionary new brand logo and Citroën’s corporate identity combine with the signature “Nothing Moves Us Like Citroën” to highlight the upcoming revolution in the brand’s approach to future accessible mobility solutions and its commitment to stress-free customer service. The brand’s new signature – “Nothing Moves Us Like Citroën” – will begin to be used selectively in corporate and product communications and activities. The first physical elements of this will be explored in a major concept family vehicle bearing the new identity, which will be unveiled by Citroën in a few days.

Laurent Barria, Head of Marketing and Communication at Citroën, said: “By embracing our roots and reinterpreting our identity in a modern way, we are sending a clear message to everyone that while we remain true to our brand DNA, things are changing significantly at Citroën. We continue to see things differently in our quest to create bold solutions in our mission to create bold solutions that make electric sustainable mobility more accessible. We are determined to prove to our customers, and to ourselves, that no one and nothing motivates us like Citroën, as we extend the emotional well-being we experience in and out of the car to every aspect of the journey. It requires revolutionary thinking in everything we do, from the innovative vehicles we create to the inclusive, responsible services we provide. We express and support our unique approach. That’s exactly what we promise to do today.”

NEW DS 7 REVEALED!

The new DS 7 combines high expertise with unique elegance and is characterised by unrivalled comfort and new electrified power units with up to 360 hp.
Developed by DS PERFORMANCE, the new DS 7 E-TENSE 4×4 360 features a 360 hp plug-in hybrid system with an advanced all-wheel drive system, large-diameter wheels and brakes that support its dynamic profile.

The first DS Automobiles model unveiled in 2017, the DS 7 CROSSBACK projected the spirit of innovation with its appearance. The model was acclaimed for its unrivalled interiors, unrivalled refinement and cutting-edge technology, setting the stage for new developments, which we now find in the New DS 7.

“At the same time as respecting the personality and elegance of the existing shape, we have added an additional touch of dynamism with provocative features. The character of the New DS 7 is enhanced, particularly at the front and rear, and the design is directly inspired by our recent prototypes. New cabin elements further enhance the character of the model, creating an even more refined and refined image. The New DS 7 is the result of the collaboration between my team, our specialists, particularly those who worked on the lighting and brought in avant-garde technology, the DS PERFORMANCE engineers, not forgetting that the investment in the model’s production line underpins the success of the New DS 7.”

Thierry Metroz, Design Director

A DESIGN REINVOLVED WITH INTENSE LENSES AND LIGHTED BY DS PIXEL LED VISION 3.0 and DS LIGHT VEIL

The character of the new DS 7 is particularly emphasised by the significant changes at the front and rear. The new DS 7 takes elegance to new heights, while displaying more dynamism with sharper, more dynamic lines and a very robust design.

The all-new front end stands out with sharper lines that develop the balance of each feature. It is the product of collaboration between the DS DESIGN STUDIO PARIS team and the team on our production line in the Mulhouse factory (France) achieving excellent results in terms of quality.

The lighting signature is developed with an even more expressive look. The combination of the new slimmer 3rd generation DS PIXEL LED VISION headlights and DS LIGHT VEIL daytime running lights is seamless and realised in the spirit of high fashion.

The slimmer 3D LED tail lights, which make an excellent impression by simulating a “vortex”, have also been redesigned and now have a dark metallic finish. The boot lid has been redesigned with sharper lines, while the name “DS AUTOMOBILES” replaces “CROSSBACK” and now underlines the rear of the new DS 7.

DS PIXEL LED VISION 3.0

DS PIXEL LED VISION 3.0 is a new technology that adds an extra dimension to the model’s appearance. The new DS 7’s new PIXEL LED light modules optimise the light output. The light beam is more powerful, with a significantly longer range, which has now reached up to 380 metres. When the car’s speed is less than 50 km/h, the beam width is 65 metres. On the inside, two headlamp/side-lighting elements light up simultaneously. At the outer end of each luminaire, are the units of the large PIXEL ladder, which consists of 84 LEDs in three rows. The illumination at turns, corners is controlled by the intensity of the external LEDs of the PIXEL unit, depending on the angle of the steering wheel.

DS LIGHT VEIL

The daytime running lights are inspired by the DS X E-TENSE and the DS AERO SPORT LOUNGE. The light seems to “emerge” through the bodywork! The DS LIGHT VEIL consists of a daylight and four vertical light elements consisting of 33 LEDs. This innovation starts with the manufacturing process: the laser-engraved surface is painted on the inside to give it an appearance that alternates between the glowing light and the body-coloured parts. It creates an effect of depth and brightness, similar to that of a jewel. DS LIGHT VEIL lights up and goes out when the car is locked and unlocked respectively, creating a welcome effect!

THE ULTIMATE FRENCH EXPERIENCE FOR LOVERS OF EXCEPTIONAL MATERIALS

Just like the greatest Parisian fashion houses, DS Automobiles pays particular attention to the choice of materials and the way they are processed. The interior trim of the new DS 7 creates an environment that will make every journey special.

The ultimate in refinement, the new DS 7 OPERA is offered in two Nappa leather colours: basalt black and pearl grey. On the larger surfaces, the ultimate in quality leather adds a natural and refined touch to the interior.

New upholstery with an original style

UNIQUE TECHNOLOGY IN THE CATEGORY

The new DS 7 offers class-leading technologies for greater comfort for passengers and driver alike, with DS ACTIVE SCAN SUSPENSION and DS NIGHT VISION.

DS ACTIVE SCAN SUSPENSION is a system that adjusts damping according to the data received by the central control unit from the front-facing camera, which “scans” the road for irregularities. This technology is unique in the class, as it adjusts the suspension stiffness at each wheel individually, depending on imperfections in the road surface.

With DS NIGHT VISION, an infrared camera scans the roadway and its edges to detect cyclists, pedestrians and animals at distances of up to 100 meters. The driver receives the information on the new high-resolution digital display that acts as the instrument panel, and there are special warnings for any dangerous situation.

DESIGNED IN FRANCE

A global car, the new DS 7 is built in Mulhouse (France) for all markets except China (for the Chinese market, the model is assembled in Shenzen). The first cars are expected to make their presence felt in DS STORES in mid-2023.

NEW PEUGEOT 408

The new PEUGEOT 408 is unexpected because it’s different. It is the first of its kind, both in the history of the brand itself and in the car market as a whole. With the new 408, PEUGEOT showcases the creativity of its teams by offering a new ‘fastback’ body at the top of segment C. This new-age PEUGEOT has a feline silhouette, unique charm, and engineering excellence, focusing on economy and intelligent electrification, as well as the thrills of cutting-edge technologies, both in terms of driving pleasure and ease of use.

COMPARATIVE. The PEUGEOT 408 stands out first and foremost for its dynamic ‘fastback’ silhouette and unparalleled style, but also for the extent to which it challenges the status quo. The distinctive feline appearance is an element that now distinguishes the brand’s models. Its lines are sharp, the grille is in the same colour as the bodywork to blend perfectly with the front end, and it is adorned with the new PEUGEOT lion’s head badge. The inverted shape of the rear bumper gives the profile a strong personality. The new PEUGEOT 408 appears to tread resolutely on 720 mm diameter wheels, and the iconic 20-inch wheels present a subversive geometric design. At the front, the signature lighting with the now familiar ‘fangs’ ideally integrates the 408 into the PEUGEOT family, as do the LED tail lights with their three ‘fangs’.

At 4.69m long, and with a long wheelbase of 2.79m, the new PEUGEOT 408 offers enviable comfort for rear seat occupants, a fact attested to by the 188mm of legroom available for their feet. In the same vein, the dimensions of the luggage compartment are just as generous, offering a total capacity of 536 litres, a figure that can be increased to as much as 1,611 litres with the rear seats folded down. The new PEUGEOT 408 is 1.48 metres tall and stands out for its slim and sculpted silhouette, which also makes a decisive contribution to improving its aerodynamic performance.

For both driver and passengers, the PEUGEOT 408 offers the latest generation of the PEUGEOT i-Cockpit®, which is instantly recognisable by its small-diameter steering wheel, and also helps to ensure driving pleasure and perfectly controlled agility.

Inside, and in particular in the driving position, the emphasis is on quality and connectivity, with the latest technologies available to make the driving experience more intuitive and interactive.

Thanks to the assistance of 6 cameras and 9 radar systems, the driver assistance systems provide the driver and passengers with peace of mind and safety. These include:

Adaptive Cruise Control with Stop & Go function,
The Adaptive Cruise Control (Adaptive Cruise Control) with Adaptive Cruise Control (Adaptive Cruise Control with Stop & Go) and Night Vision, which warns of the presence of animals, pedestrians or cyclists in the path of the car before they are illuminated by the car’s headlights,
Long-range blind spot monitoring, 75 metres,
Rear Traffic Alert, which warns of a potential collision.

The range of engines with which the new PEUGEOT 408 is equipped includes two plug-in hybrid versions with 180 and 225 hp, and a petrol version with 130 hp. All three engines are available with the 8-speed EAT8 automatic transmission. A few months later, the range will be completed with a purely electric version.

Economy was one of the main concerns of the PEUGEOT 408 designers. The joint effort in improving aerodynamics, reducing weight (from 1396 kg) and developing low-emission engines have resulted in the creation of a model that achieves extremely low average energy consumption (in the approval process), whether in its hybrid versions or in the 130 hp petrol version.

The new PEUGEOT 408 will be launched in early 2023. A car with international commercial career ambitions that will be built initially for the European market, in Mulhouse, France, and immediately afterwards, at the Chengdu plant for the local market in China.

“At PEUGEOT, we believe that life is better when there is charm. With its unique looks, innovative fastback bodywork, and stunning elegance, the new 408 is the perfect expression of the PEUGEOT brand’s philosophy and ingenuity,” says Linda Jackson, Managing Director of the PEUGEOT brand. “Unexpected from every angle, the new PEUGEOT 408 is designed for car and life enthusiasts who want to break free from conventionality in search of responsible enjoyment. It incorporates PEUGEOT’s demanding technological standards – controlled performance and a very high level digital experience – as well as the intense thrills of intuitive driving.”

The quest for responsible and modern pleasure: customers

With the new 408, the PEUGEOT brand completes its range in the highly strategic C segment. PEUGEOT has held a leading position in this segment in recent years, thanks to the success of the 3008 and 5008 SUVs, as well as three generations of the 308 saloon and 308 SW, the latter having just been launched. The PEUGEOT 408 completes the brand’s range and places it at the top of the C-Class.

The new PEUGEOT 408 reflects the values and concerns of a highly modernist audience: dynamic and connected, these customers want to contribute to the energy transition without having to sacrifice moments of pleasure. They seek innovation and appreciate the creativity and daring of new combinations that go beyond the conventional.

Most of the customers of the new PEUGEOT 408 will be couples, most of them with a thirst for life, with or without children, who use their car for personal and business purposes. A multitude of needs and desires, often complementing each other, guide their choice. Some wish to move to a purchase of a C-segment model and buy a larger and more spacious car. Others are looking for a more original look and an innovative shape compared to a compact SUV, which they consider too ordinary or too family-friendly. Finally, others simply appreciate the imposing body of a large car. All of them are looking for a very modern driving experience, either for everyday use or for long, comfortable and relaxed trips with passengers.

Unique MOTHER of a dynamic and innovative fastback body: the design

Combined with the feline stance of all PEUGEOT cars, the official language of the new 408 is perfectly in line with the innovative concept of the top fastback in segment C. It is characterised by the particularly sharp edges of the surfaces, which are most noticeable at the rear: at the roof trim, and at the base of the wings, and these sharp edges are designed to play with light.

The 408 has a distinctive exterior architecture. Based on the EMP2 (Efficient Modular Platform), a multi-option engine platform, the model with its long wheelbase of 2.787m offers excellent space for rear passengers. Its overall length reaches 4.69m and its width, with the mirrors folded, is 1.859m.

The wide tracks (1.599m at the front and 1.604m at the rear) confirm the car’s sure footing on the road, while the large diameter wheels (720mm) play the same role, as does the diameter of the wheels, which reach up to 20in. Although the body of the new PEUGEOT 408 is taller, it retains an extremely slim silhouette and a sporty profile thanks to its overall height of no more than 1.48m.

At the front, the long bonnet framed by raised wings, an element that characterises all the latest PEUGEOT models, stands out. This stylistic choice enhances the appearance of the front end while streamlining the profile, as the wing-bonnet joint is almost invisible. This construction principle also simplifies the outer bonnet line and enables the body parts to fit perfectly.

The Matrix LED technology used in the lights has contributed to the creation of these ultra-thin luminaires, while ensuring a top level of lighting efficiency. These headlights are also the hallmark of the new 408: a feature that says it is undoubtedly a PEUGEOT. The lighting signature extends downwards with two fang-shaped LED strips that penetrate deep into the bumper.

The grille is an integral part of the 408’s identity. It harmoniously surrounds the brand’s new badge that conceals the radar used by many of the driver assistance systems. The shade of the grille ensures that it is “hidden” by integrating it into the overall volume of the bumper – a characteristic feature of the generational change and electrification of the PEUGEOT range.

The large black air vents characterise the appearance of the front end, emphasising the look of the front end.
